Golden Years Homecare Services Provided Homeless Veterans Winter Coats For Holidays

Working with Veterans each day, we get to know our men and women for not just the service they provided our country, but for who they are as people. Last month, we donated our Appreciation For Vets Thanksgiving Care Packages to Veterans in Springfield with our community partners. During that time, we realized that there was a need within the Veteran community.

To help brighten the holiday season, Golden Years Homecare Services partnered with Commonwealth Care Alliance and Springfield Pharmacy to deliver 25 brand new winter coats to Veterans at Friends of the Homeless in Springfield.

“We witnessed the overwhelming need for winter coats among the homeless members of the Veteran population,” noted CEO Cesar Ruiz, Jr. “Knowing the need, we acted quickly to be able to provide those who served our country with some holiday cheer,” he added.

Golden Years Homecare Services has a long-standing relationship with the Veteran’s Administration, having conducted several past outreach initiatives with and for the Greater Springfield Veterans population. Golden Years has had the privilege of serving Veterans with their home care needs in the past. Click here to learn about our Vet services.

It was our honor to put together these winter packages with our partners and talk to the Veterans as they came to pick up their holiday packages.

From our family to yours, we hope you have a happy and safe holiday!
